Our third monthly match of 2018 is this coming Saturday April 14th.  I hope to see everyone out there. Registration will begin at 7:15 and end at 8:00. Firing will commence at 8:30.  I do ask that everyone chip in and get the flags out and targets refaced if needed and ready the pits once your gear is situated.

When it comes to weather guessing, any forecast is "iffy", so Glen's not wrong.

I guess we are going to have to learn how to shoot in the rain. This weather sucks!

Rain makes the best wind indicator....until it is sideways :o.

My greatest concern is trashing the targets backers from rain and the target frames if the wind gets a bit too gusty.  I was going to shoot at Laurel at the 1000yd match but the county is discussing bridge closures from the anticipated rainfall and I would hate to drive 4 hours and have a match cancelled.  I'll be at PA if we shoot....regardless of conditions.

Well we've seen 80% rainfall chances before and then had nothing but blue sky.  But then again the weather forecast is obviously showing rain at some point Saturday.  It's trending towards rain coming later in the morning and we may indeed face a situation where we have a shortened match.  With that in mind, those that have to travel for this match will have to make their own decision as to whether/weather (get it??? HA HA) or not to make the trip.  As of now the match is still on.  That could change if the weather takes an obvious turn for the worse (as in a huge swath of rain on the radar that would without a doubt hinder our match when i wake up on Saturday).  I do not want to destroy the cardboard of the targets as many other matches use them as well, so we will err on the side of caution and DO NOT plan on shooting in the rain.  Heck it might end up being just a bunch of guys getting together gabbing about rifles (is there anything better?).  I advise everyone to keep a close eye on the forums.

P.S.  We ALL know Boudreaux wants to show off that new rifle of his.....

Well we put up the good fight, but i think mother nature is going to win this one.  It had been trending towards coming thru later in the day, but they are now saying it will be coming thru right when we would be shooting.  If it were just some light rain we might try to ride it out, but this promises to have some severe weather complete with High winds possible (75mph), hail, and possible tornados.  So for that reason we are cancelling this match.  Sorry for the late notice, but DANG IT! we were hoping for the best.  See ya'll next month.
